Idrissa Gueye in stinker for Everton v Brighton as Sean Dyche decision on cards

Sean Dyche needs to make changes at half-time if he wants his Everton side to get something from the game against Brighton.

The Toffees started the new season at home on 17 August and despite being the better team initially, found themselves a goal down to Kaoru Mitoma’s strike.

They need to take their shackles off and play a more attacking brand of football and that could see Idrissa Gueye being withdrawn.

IlIman Ndiaye needs to come on for Everton

Iliman Ndiaye is on the bench and he can arguably play the number 10 role much better than Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Doucoure can move into midfield alongside Tim Iroegbunam and Gueye needs to be dropped after a woeful first half.

The 34-year-old has mustered a woeful pass accuracy of 73 per cent [Sofascore] and is not being able to shield the defence properly.

He’s also not offering much in terms of his forward passing and Dyche would much rather have a player who’s keeping his head up at all times.

Idrissa Gueye is struggling for Everton against Brighton

Gueye also has a 0 per cent success rate with his dribbles and has shown signs of nervousness when being pressed.

Given how Brighton play, the Toffees need someone in midfield who’s confident in possession at all times.

Losing possession five times and 50 per cent of his ground duels is certainly not what Dyche wants from Gueye and if he does not bring him off at half-time, he needs to around the 60th minute or the Toffees might concede another and lose the game.

In other Everton news, the Toffees have made a comeback as talks have heated up in the last few hours to seal a £12.7m-rated signing.
