Sean Dyche makes new Everton contract admission amid takeover uncertainty
Sean Dyche has admitted he is yet to hold talks over extending his contract at Everton ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Toffees boss is entering the final year of his deal at Goodison Park, having managed to keep the Blues in the Premier League during his first two campaigns despite plenty of uncertainty off of the pitch.
With a takeover yet to be completed and Farhad Moshiri still at the helm currently, Dyche has admitted that he feels there have been bigger issues to handle at this moment in time than his future at the club.
As quoted by the Daily Mirror (17 August) he said: “I have not mentioned it to them, and they have not mentioned it to me.
“I am well aware of the club, I am well aware of the predicament, the last thing on my mind is my situation. There is a much bigger picture than my situation and that is the club. I have always maintained that.
“The team, the club and the current situation is calmer, I am sure we would all agree on that, but still not solved and still not sorted.
“That won’t be an issue for me at the moment, I will keep doing what I do and that is working hard.”
Will Sean Dyche exit Everton after Goodison Park contract update?
While Everton supporters will want all contract situations sorted out as soon as possible to ensure that nobody walks away at the end of their current deals, Dyche’s assessment of the current situation hits the nail on the head.
There is so much uncertainty from the top of the football club to the bottom and while that remains the case, it is impossible for the Goodison board to hand the Englishman a new deal confidently.

That doesn’t mean talks won’t be held in the future and it certainly doesn’t mean he won’t be offered extended terms, but that discussion will be delayed for as long as possible and in an ideal world until a new owner is in place.
Hopefully, that happens sooner rather than later so that the Toffees can begin to get their ducks in a row, however, the most important thing for the Blues is the fact that Dyche isn’t irritated by this situation and instead understands it totally.
