Everton transfer boost in bid to sign Edoardo Bove as Roma line up replacement
Roma have eyed up possible central-midfield replacements for Edoardo Bove amid ongoing links with a move to Everton, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported in its print edition on Sunday (18 August, page 21) that Bove is still being chased by Everton and Fulham.
With Bove’s future at Stadio Olimpico still uncertain, Roma are looking into the possibility of signing Manu Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach.
The report also adds that Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumare is another possible option for Roma ahead of the 30 August transfer deadline.
Everton not giving up on Edoardo Bove transfer
Bove has been touted as a target for the Toffees over a number of weeks now, but time is fast running out for a deal to be struck.
The 22-year-old is entering his fifth season with the Italian club, featuring prominently over the past two of those with 53 combined league outings.
Roma are doing what any club would do in being proactive in case Bove does indeed depart over these next two weeks or so.
On the evidence of the opening game of the season, a poor 3-0 home loss to Brighton, it is clear Everton need more options all over the pitch.
Another midfielder would massively help, and Bove certainly seems to tick plenty of boxes in that area of the field.

What the loss to Brighton has only gone to highlight, however, is that more recruits are needed ASAP. If not, this will be a very long campaign indeed.
