Jason Cundy ‘sorry’ to break Premier League news to Everton fan live on air
Jason Cundy has mocked a fan live on talkSPORT by telling him that Everton are bottom of the Premier League after one match.
The Toffees opened their Premier League in disappointing fashion, falling to a 3-0 defeat against Brighton in front of their home fans to leave them at the foot of the table.
One supporter called in to talkSPORT on 17 August to suggest Sean Dyche should go after a poor start to the campaign.
Laughing as he replied, Cundy said: “Have you seen the league table? You’re bottom. I’m sorry to break the news but right now Ipswich are above you.”
It is safe to say the fan took the bait replying: “That just shows you that Dyche isn’t the man because again he’s messed up on the first day.”

In yet another reminder that football fans have short memories, there are genuine calls that the Toffees boss should be moved on.
It was just a few months ago that supporters wanted their manager nominated for the season award against the likes of Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta.
There is no doubt that losing 3-0 on opening day is far from ideal and was only made worse when Ashley Young was sent off for a last-man foul.
It is clear that fans had seen enough as Goodison Park emptied well before the full-time whistle in a bizarre start to the campaign.

There was frustration given that the manager had opted not to field any of his new signings but he went with a tried and trusted formula.
It didn’t work in the end and ahead of the next game against Tottenham, more fresh faces may be given the opportunity to feature from the start.
