Jordan Pickford stance on Everton exit shared as last-gasp Goodison exit mooted
Jordan Pickford will stay at Everton “regardless” of what happens at Goodison Park over the coming months, according to Darren Bent.
The England stopper has been linked with a move away from Merseyside over the summer transfer window, with reports suggesting several top Premier League clubs were eyeing his signature [Sportslens, 9 May].
While some have suggested the 30-year-old will grow frustrated by the Toffees’ regular relegation battles, talkSPORT pundit Bent believes that he has shown that he is loyal to Sean Dyche’s side.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday (20 August, 18:25 ) he said: “It’s down to potentially Lee Carsly and what he wants because now he’s the interim England manager.
“But I think Pickford will stay at Everton regardless.”

While there will always be pundits and supporters who argue that England’s number one shouldn’t be scrapping it out at the bottom of the table, it is clear that Pickford loves Everton and is committed to the Toffees.
The 30-year-old’s displays over the last couple of seasons have kept the Blues in the Premier League as he has regularly made outstanding saves to keep the Toffees in matches when they’ve been fighting for their lives.
Replacing that presence between the posts wouldn’t be easy and it would be close to a disaster or Dyche if the England international were to leave Goodison Park in the final days of the summer transfer window.
Hopefully, no clubs look to take advantage of the Blues’ financial position and Pickford will remain an Everton player beyond 30 August, otherwise, the fight for survival will become a lot trickier for the Toffees.
If Bent’s prediction is right, however, supporters have absolutely nothing to worry about.
