Farhad Moshiri wastes time as John Textor ‘chaos’ blasted amid Everton development

New York Times journalist Tariq Panja has slammed prospective Everton owner John Textor for the chaos he has caused at other clubs.

The American businessman shared a statement on 22 August to confirm his intentions to sell his shares in Crystal Palace in order to buy Everton.

In response to this development, sports writer Panja took to X on 23 August to suggest that Farhad Moshiri needs to consider other options ahead of the Lyon owner.

He said: “If I’m an Everton fan or someone with interest in the heritage of Everton, I’d be wondering why this guy would be the owner you want.

“Chaos follows across the teams in the group. Everton have had enough chaos surely. Moshiri wasting time.”

Textor has not been shy when it comes to getting involved as shareholder in various different football clubs around the world.

The American has investments in Palace, Lyon, Botafogo and RWD and is looking to add Everton to that varied portfolio.

Supporters may be worried by his previous attempts to purchase English clubs with Newcastle United [Chronicle Live, 12 July 2021] being the most notable.

It is clear that there is the funds available but the fuboTV owner may be spread very thin by his various responsibilities in business and football.

Fans just want a resolution as soon as possible but they need it to be the right one for the club and it is Moshiri’s role to find that.

There hasn’t been any luck so far with the likes of Dan Friedkin and now if Textor is going to be the chosen one, he has to sell his Crystal Palace shares first, which could take time.
