Everton submit loan bid for Orel Mangala as 100% wage offer made
Everton submitted a loan offer to Lyon to sign Orel Mangala and pay his full wage, according to L’Equipe.
The French outlet reported on 27 August that the Toffees are interested in the Belgium international who only joined the Ligue 1 side in January.
The 26-year-old could now be on the move to Goodison Park after a loan offer with full salary coverage was made to the club owned by perspective Everton owner, John Textor.
Everton interested in Orel Mangala from Lyon
Sean Dyche is looking to add to his midfield especially in defensive areas with Idrissa Geuye being the only true DM in the squad.
This hasn’t helped in the opening two Premier League clashes against Brighton and Tottenham where seven goals have been conceded.
Adding someone like Mangala to the squad wouldn’t be a guarantee given his previous form in the league which saw Nottingham Forest move him on.
With that being said, the former Stuttgart man has become a regular in the Belgium squad as a defensive-minded midfielder which is a positive point.
Alongside the likes of Tim Iroegbunam or Abdoulaye Doucoure, this could add some protection for an already fragile Everton backline.

There is plenty of work to be done before the window ends for Dyche before too much negativity builds around his squad this early in the season.
Mangala’s signing wouldn’t be met with fanfare but could add some solidity to a struggling side.
