Everton set for manic transfer Deadline Day as new Kieran Trippier update shared

Everton are unlikely to make a move for Newcastle United ace Kieran Tripper, according to Anton Toloui.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News [29 August, 3:26pm], the journalist outlined that Sean Dyche’s main focus lies in other areas of the pitch.

Toloui also shared another reason why it is unlikely that Tripper will be representing the blue of Everton before 11pm on 30 August.

“At this stage, it looks unlikely Everton will make a move for Kieran Trippier,” he said.

“There are a couple of reasons – one, they’re trying to sign players in a couple of other positions before the window closes; two, Everton feel the right-back position is a little more replenished with the return to fitness of Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young being back from suspension.

“Kieran Trippier is also on a large wage at Newcastle.”

Toloui added: “It’ll be an interesting deadline day here at Everton”.

Everton are right to move away from Kieran Tripper

Since the opening of the summer transfer window, Everton have heavily replenished their attacking line.

The likes of former Sheffield United star Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom have both already been added to the Toffees’ ranks.

So, in reality, it makes sense that Dyche is turning his head away from further attacking reinforcements with what little money they have left.

However, it feels as if the club making a move for a 33-year-old Tripper – a vastly experienced Premier League player – wouldn’t be in line with their recent recruitment strategy.

Not only is his age a cause for concern but much like Nathan Patterson and Coleman, the Englishman has had a long history with injuries that could also hurt his chances of becoming a regular player for Everton.

Each of these points alongside the fact that his wages are likely extortionate all help paint a clearer picture of why the Toffees are no longer gunning for the transfer of the right-back despite their evident need for a full-back.

Other names, such as Lorenz Assignon [Fabrice Hawkins, 29 August], are much more intriguing targets but only time will tell what deals the club will be able to pull off before 30 August.
