Ernest Nuamah agrees to join Everton with deadline-busting transfer now close
Lyon attacker Ernest Nuamah has agreed to join Everton ahead of the 11pm deadline, according to Foot Mercato.
The online outlet reported on 30 August [19:33] that now that Nuamah has accepted the offer, Everton has to complete a deal with the French side.
It is suggested that the potential price tag for the attacker could be worth around £25.2million.
Ernest Nuamah would be a statement of intent from Everton
Despite having already bolstered their attacking ranks since the window opened, adding Nuamah to their ranks would be a real statement of intent from the Toffees.
Last season one of their main woes was that of their attack. None of their attacking talent performed to the standards expected of them, so despite the Merseyside outfit having a strong midfield and defence, they only managed to finish in 15th place.
And, despite their recent arrivals of both Jesper Lindstrom [Shamoon Hafez, 5 August] and former Sheffield United ace Iliman Ndiaye, Dyche hasn’t yet entrusted the duo to start a Premier League game.
But, should he choose to do so as the season goes on, the addition of Nuamah would no doubt help their chances of avoiding a relegation battle tenfold.
The Ghanaian is just 22 years old so would have plenty of room to develop and could be a stellar acquisition for the future.
Only time will tell whether a move can be agreed upon but if it can, Everton could pull themselves out of their poor run of form sooner than many may think.
