Fulham and Everton update in Nuamah transfer chase, £15m+ late deal lined up
Fulham are working on a deadline-day deal for Everton target Ernest Nuamah, according to The Athletic.
The news outlet reported in its live transfer blog (12:38 pm, 30 August) that talks are ongoing between Fulham and Lyon over a £15million plus add-ons deal for Nuamah.
Any deal would likely include a sell-on percentage for Lyon, with nothing yet finalised. Everton still retain an interest in the Ghanaian forward.
Fulham to beat Everton to signing of Lyon forward Ernest Nuamah?
Time is running out for the Toffees if they want to bring Nuamah to Goodison Park, with the transfer window set to shut at 11 pm on Friday (30 August).
Therefore, if Everton want to sign Nuamah, they will need to act fast. Fulham are making strides to beat Sean Dyche’s side to the signing, and it looks as though the Premier League outfit have already done enough.
With talks ongoing over a deal worth £15million plus add-ons, the Toffees are unlikely to be able to match that fee so late on in the window, without selling a player first.
As a result, it looks as though they may be forced to concede defeat in this latest transfer battle, with the club also unlikely to convince Nuamah that Everton is currently a more favourable destination than Fulham.

However, with Nuamah’s Lyon teammate Orel Mangala set to complete a loan switch to the Toffees (via Fabrizio Romano, 30 August), it isn’t all doom and gloom for Dyche on deadline day.
