Sean Dyche looks set to land his first addition of Deadline Day with the former Nottingham Forest man set to join up with his squad for the campaign.
This looks set to be a much needed boost for the Toffees who have had a disappointing start to the new Premier League season.
With two defeats and seven goals conceded in their opening games, there is lots of negativity surrounding Goodison Park right now.
There is hope that the Belgian could be a positive addition to the side to add some physicality and solidity to the midfield.
Idrissa Geuye is the only true defensive midfielder in the squad but lacks that aspect which is needed in the Premier League.
Mangala could prove to be the perfect partner for Tim Iroegbunam in the heart of the team after being a shining light in the opening games of the year.
The youngster signed from Aston Villa could benefit further from having the former Stuttgart man next to him.
