Sean Dyche would love to reunite with Kieran Trippier at Everton on Deadline Day
Dan Bardell doesn’t think Everton needs to sign Kieran Trippier due to their squad options and his wage demands.
A report from The Telegraph on 22 August suggested that the Toffees admire the former England international who could leave Newcastle United before the end of the window.
The 33-year-old is looking to leave St James’ Park ahead of the 30 August deadline with Atalanta, Galatasaray and West Ham all keen.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes Sean Dyche should have other transfer priorities than the right back.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “Trippier is a better footballer than Ashley Young and Seamus Coleman but he will command a big wage.
“When you’ve already got the two right backs and Patterson plus Holgate is still there, it just isn’t a priority position.
“Dyche has worked with him before and I’m sure he’d love to work with him again but I can’t see that move materialising.
“His wage demands would be too high and Everton already have a plethora of right backs.
“I just don’t see that happening although Tripper is a brilliant player.“
Everton to miss out on Kieran Trippier
The Toffees do have plenty of options in the right back position which may prove to make Trippier a somewhat strange signing.
Dyche could be keen to reunite with the former Burnley star at Goodison Park but an ageing player on high wages is what has got the club into this financial mess.
After picking up points deductions last campaign, there has been a conscious shift away from signing these sorts of players.
There is no doubt that the former Tottenham man would be a positive addition to the dressing room and squad but there isn’t an open spot for him right now.

Adding another 30+ right back alongside Coleman and Young seems unnecessary, especially when Patterson can not get a game.
