Wilfried Zaha to help Everton complete last-gasp signing
Wilfried Zaha could be about to help Everton get the signing of Lyon winger Ernest Nuamah over the line after a report emerged on Thursday (29 August).
French publication L’Equipe wrote that the former Crystal Palace winger is on the verge of moving to Lyon from Galatasaray on loan.
Zaha is being drafted in as a replacement for Nuamah, who L’Equipe wrote is “leaving for the Premier League”.
It was reported by HITC on Thursday (29 August) that the 20-year-old Ghana winger is in advanced talks with the Toffees over a deadline-day loan switch, with Lyon team-mate Orel Mangala also set to move to Goodison Park (Sacha Tavolieri) on Friday.
Everton look for last-minute reinforcements
There has been plenty of uncertainty off the pitch at Goodison Park this summer amid continued takeover talk and a poor start on the pitch in the Premier League only added to the gloom.
It looked pretty evident on the basis of defeats to Brighton and Tottenham that boss Sean Dyche would do with some reinforcements for a threadbare squad and it does look as though that could happen.

The John Textor link to Everton is seemingly helping in this case with midfielder Mangala adding some beef in the centre of the park, a necessity really given Amadou Onana’s sale to Aston Villa.
More firepower further forward would not go amiss either and Nuamah could help there. At 20 years old, he is the sort of age and profile Everton need to be targeting and it could end up being a pretty shrewd piece of business – and a piece of business seemingly helped by Zaha.
In other Everton news, Dan Friedkin has been tipped to return to the table in a new takeover twist.
