Sean Dyche to make fresh Iliman Ndiaye decision after new developments at Everton
Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye will be a “mainstay” in Sean Dyche’s side after recent developments at Goodison Park, Connor O’Neill.
The Toffees winless start to the Premier League season continued on Saturday (31 August) as they let a late two-goal lead over Bournemouth slip in the final moments of the clash to lose 3-2 at Goodison.
While supporters had very few positives to cling to after the clash, summer signing Nidaye received plenty of praise for his display with Liverpool Echo journalist O’Neill suggesting he possesses something different to all his teammates.
Speaking on The Royal Blue YouTube channel (2 September, 33:35) he said: “He’s in now and it looks like he will be a mainstay in this team for some time to come.
“He’s got something that not many Everton players in this squad have got. He’s the only one who’s got that little bit of ability to make something happen out of nothing.
“I think he’ll only get better and better.”
How much did Everton pay for Iliman Ndiaye transfer?
Dyche has come under plenty of criticism in the opening weeks of the season from pundits and supporters because of the Blues’ miserable start to the Premier League campaign.
While the results have been nowhere near good enough, a lot of fans have been just as disappointed to see the manager repeatedly leave several of his new signings on the substitute bench, despite having a whole pre-season with the Toffees.
While Ndiaye was the only new addition to feature from the off against Bournemouth on Saturday, his inclusion in the starting XI suggests that even Dyche has realised he cannot afford to leave the 24-year-old out any longer.
As O’Neill suggested, the Senegalese forward offers something completely different to any other member of the Everton squad with a creative part that can unlock defences and create scoring opportunities.
When he is fit, he simply has to start each and every game in that number 10 role. The Blues collapsed when he made way against the Cherries and they cannot afford to drop points in that fashion again if they want to avoid relegation.
