John Textor expects Everton takeover agreement with Farhad Moshiri within 4 weeks
John Textor believes he can agree a deal to buy Everton from Farhad Moshiri within the next four weeks, according to The Guardian.
The paper reported via their website on 10 September that the American is understood to “confident” he can strike a deal with the Toffees majority shareholder in month’s time after being granted exclusive negotiating rights.
He is the fifth party to have agreed exclusivity with Moshiri, and follows Dan Friedkin who pulled out of a takeover during the summer due to complications relating to money owed to the party before him, 777 Partners.
Textor declined to comment to The Guardian for their report.
John Textor replaced Dan Friedkin in Everton takeover picture
Securing a deal with Moshiri is clearly a vital part of the process but is arguably one of the simplest Textor is faced with in a complicated picture.
His 45% ownership of Crystal Palace remains a key hurdle and he has so far been unable to sell the shares after months of trying [The Esk, 31 May], although Sky News reported on 26 August that he now has a pair of offers that could be executed quickly.
The financial situation at Goodison Park is then a major conundrum in itself and one that Friedkin deemed “unresolvable” as things stand [The Esk, 20 July].
But Textor stepped into the race for a second time even after his compatriot backed away so he clearly sees an opportunity where some rivals have balked.

That confidence in his prospective ownership of the Toffees isn’t shared everywhere however as some close to the process are said to not deem him a serious bidder.
According to Paul Brown on 29 August there are some expectations that Friedkin will instead return to the picture in the future, but as things stand it looks like Textor is taking advantage of his exclusivity agreement and plowing ahead from pole position.
