Graham Potter claim made at Everton as Sean Dyche sack speculation emerges
Bryan King doesn’t think John Textor would be interested in appointing Graham Potter as Everton manager.
The ex-Everton scout believes the American would prefer to hire a foreign manager at Goodison Park, should Sean Dyche be sacked.
HITC journalist Graeme Bailey recently told Everton News (9 September), “David Moyes’ name has come up. We know he’s available. I know (Graham) Potter is someone who the hierarchy like, again, out of work. Big-name manager.
“That’s not to say Dyche is on the brink. They just have to do their due diligence to make it easier for a transition if it’s needed.”
But King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – doesn’t expect Potter to succeed Dyche.
“I wouldn’t put Potter in the same class as Moyes,” King said.
“It seems as though he has been linked with every club around Europe since his sacking from Chelsea. By the sound of things, Textor wouldn’t be interested in Potter anyway.
“It looks as though he might be looking abroad, which is how these owners tend to operate.”
Graham Potter to replace Sean Dyche at Everton?
If the Toffees did decide to replace Dyche, they would need to get that decision spot on.
Changing a manager midway through the season could pose a risk, with Everton seemingly set for another relegation dogfight this year.
Any new boss would need time to settle in. However, they might not have that time if the club are fighting to survive in the Premier League.

Therefore, any decision on a brand-new manager, whether that be one made by the current board or Textor should he complete a takeover at Goodison Park, needs to be made carefully.
