Farhad Moshiri to ‘take what he is given’ for Everton as new takeover update emerges

Farhad Moshiri will ultimately “take what he is given” at Everton after new takeover updates emerged, according to Simon Jordan.

The Toffees owner is understood to have entered a period of exclusivity with John Textor, but reports also suggest that Dan Friedkin is considering re-igniting his interest in acquiring the Blues [The Telegraph, 17 September].

Although Moshiri is yet to agree a deal with either party, talkSPORT host Jordan believes the Blues chief will have to reach an agreement sooner rather than later because he is running out of money at Goodison.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Tuesday (17 September, 12:50) he said: “My understanding is Moshiri doesn’t have an enormous amount of money left and he doesn’t have a lot of money that can draw from the business.

“The club has got a lot of debt and a football stadium on the other side of it that will give it a huge opportunity to come out of the challenges it’s brought on itself.

“He will take what he’s given. Eventually, they will have to force this pill down his throat because, at this moment, Everton may have a bit of cash flow, Textor himself referred to it.”

Will Farhad Moshiri exit Everton after Goodison Park takeover update?

While Moshiri’s asking price for his stake in the Toffees has caused problems in the past, it does seem as though the Blues owner may be reaching his breaking point as the money dries up at Goodison Park.

Everton appear to have enough cash to survive at this moment in time, particularly because of their work in the transfer market, but that money won’t last forever and Mohsiri doesn’t have much more to pump in.

Although the Toffees majority shareholder will want as much money as he can get for his stake in Goodison Park, there will come a time when even he will know that his demands are unreasonable and won’t be matched.

As Jordan suggests, it will be a horrible pill for Moshiri to swallow, but eventually, he will have to. The question that remains however is whether or not he will do business with Textor, Friedkin or even another buyer.
