Dan Friedkin closes in on Everton takeover in new advanced update

Dan Friedkin is closing in on a deal to complete a takeover of Everton Football Club, sources close to the situation have told Bloomberg.

The website reported [23 September] that Friedkin and Farhad Moshiri are in advanced stages of striking a deal, which could bring an end to months of uncertainty at Goodison Park.

Representatives for both the Toffees and the Friedkin Group declined to comment on the situation, though it is understood a deal is closer after Friedkin held exclusive talks earlier in the summer.

Dan Friedkin to complete Everton takeover as advanced update emerges?

This is exactly the kind of news passionate Evertonians needed after months of uncertainty surrounding a potential takeover deal at Goodison Park.

While John Textor has been more than transparent with his openness to invest in the club, looking to sell his shareholding in Crystal Palace, Friedkin looks set to beat him to the punch.

The US billionaire has tried once before, and while the parameters of the debt and relegation threats have not changed much, he looks set to be back in the picture and closing in on a deal.

Friedkin can bring plenty of expertise to Merseyside, given his extensive experience with AS Roma in Serie A, so fans have every right to be excited by his possible purchase of the Toffees.

The fanbase just wants to know their club is safe to fight another day, whether that means Friedkin, Textor, or a new party coming in to take Moshiri’s place at Goodison Park.

While the Goodison faithful will be wary about getting their hopes up again, having been burned by Friedkin once before, this update is a massive boost for the Toffees as they look to battle against relegation.
