Premier League update emerges on Dan Friedkin ahead of Everton takeover push

Dan Friedkin is unlikely to have any problems passing relevant tests as he pushes to complete a takeover at Everton, according to Liverpool Echo.

The newspaper reported via its website [23 September] that the new potential owner will not struggle to bypass the Premier League’s Owners’ and Directors’ tests, the FA’s test, or achieve the green light from the Financial Conduct Authority.

It is understood the takeover could happen at a very quick rate, with the Friedkin Group already conducting extensive due diligence during their previous period of exclusivity.

Fans at Goodison Park will be hugely relieved to hear Friedkin is likely to pass The FA’s and the Premier League’s forthcoming tests with flying colours, with the takeover saga now ongoing for months.

John Textor looked like the most likely candidate to replace Farhad Moshiri as owner, aiming to sell his shareholding at Crystal Palace before moving up to Merseyside and making the club a “superpower” [Alan Nixon].

The main problem with Textor’s takeover attempt is that his shares at Selhurst Park have not yet been sold while Friedkin has free reign to bring his Serie A expertise to the Premier League.

Friedkin now looks set to beat him to the punch, with reports of the American billionaire being on the verge of striking a deal with an equity investment upwards of £500million [Alan Myers].

The Evertonians are just desperate for the takeover saga to finally come to an end, with the 777 Partners’ initial attempt falling through last season and Friedkin pulling out of a deal this summer.

Fans have mixed feelings over who they would rather at the helm, Friedkin or Textor, but as long as a deal is completed soon, the majority of fans are likely to be satisfied.
