Roma sale news revealed as Dan Friedkin set to complete Everton takeover

Dan Friedkin and his Friedkin Group are not considering selling Roma as they have reached an agreement on buying Farhad Moshiri’s stake at Everton, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

The Italian news outlet reported on 23 September that sources close to the Friedkins have denied the possibility of the Serie A club being sold, for now, as UEFA rules do not ban multi-club ownership.

The problem would arise if both teams were competing in Europe, but that’s not a concern, as things stand, given where the Toffees have been finishing in recent years.

Everton could benefit from Dan Friedkin’s ownership of Roma

Despite Friedkin’s reluctance to sell Roma, this should not be viewed as a bad thing for the Toffees.

Multi-club ownerships have worked well for numerous consortiums and there’s no reason to think it won’t this time around as well.

Friedkin has transformed Roma in recent years and the group’s expertise in running football clubs will certainly come in handy at Goodison Park.

They could also look to capitalise on the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock and look for lucrative deals to maximise the impact of it.

Moving to a new ground is always the start of a new era and doing so under new owners is just what Everton needed.

Farhad Moshiri’s reign has been catastrophic and it’s time there was a change of guard.

Hopefully, a few years down the line, 23 September 2024 will be looked back on as the day things began to get better for the Toffees.
