Friedkin Group plan Everton audit as Sean Dyche update emerges after takeover announcement

The Freidkin Group are planning an audit of football operations at Everton with Sean Dyche’s inevitably set to become uncertain, according to i News.

The outlet reported on its website on Monday (23 September) that sources close to the prospective new owners have insisted it is “too early” to discuss football priorities after recent takeover updates at Goodison Park.

Everton confirmed that the Friedkin Group had reached an agreement with Blue Heaven Holdings to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s controlling stake at Goodison Park, with the deal subject to approval.

The Friedkins are understood to hold strong opinions about what a club should look like and will prioritise an audit at Goodison Park, with Dyche’s position inevitability coming into focus.

Will Everton sack Sean Dyche after Goodison Park takeover update?

New owners making a change in the dugout is not exactly a new concept in the footballing world and it is only natural that the Friedkin Group would look to put their stamp on the Blues squad once a deal is completed.

John Textor had previously been very open about his desire to mould the football club in his image when he was in the running to acquire Moshiri’s controlling stake and while Friedkin won’t be as public, he will likely want to do similar.

Dyche only has a year left on his deal on Merseyside and after a poor start to the Premier League season, there were always going to be question marks around his position regardless of who was in charge at Goodison Park.

Just because the Freidkins are planning an audit doesn’t necessarily mean that the former Burnley boss will be sacked. When the prospective new owners look into the club, they could well feel that he is the right man for the job.

Ultimately, Dyche and his side have the next couple of months to show the incoming owners that they are up to the job, otherwise, they run the risk of not being part of the new era at Everton.
