Everton reach new Dele Alli agreement as news emerges from Goodison Park

Everton have agreed a deal in principle to seal the signing of Dele Alli on a free transfer but that will kick in once he returns to full fitness, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports news editor claimed on 5 October that he will be on the club’s payroll only when he’s available to play.

The 28-year-old is currently nursing an injury and is using the Toffees’ facilities for his rehab.

Myers wrote on X: “As far as I’m aware a deal has been agreed in principle but that will only kick in once he’s fit and ready to play.”

Dele Alli seems to have impressed Sean Dyche in Everton training

Sean Dyche issued an update on Alli’s fitness recently and things are not looking good for the former Tottenham attacker.

The Toffees boss still remains bullish in terms of the attacking midfielder’s future at the club so it’s fair to assume that he is a part of his plans for this season.

The hierarchy would not force an injury-prone player down Dyche’s throat if he did not want him and it remains to be seen what the agreement is.

While Alli may demand wages close to what he was previously pocketing, currently he remains in no position to ask for those.

A fully-fit version of the Englishman is capable of wreaking havoc in the final third and Dyche must’ve seen glimpses of that behind the scenes.

Hopefully, there are no more setbacks and he can quickly return to full fitness and join the first-team squad.

In other Everton news, a manager who’s the favourite to replace Sean Dyche has just relocated to an hour away from Finch Farm.
