Everton board reveal emerges with Farhad Moshiri on way out with takeover
Everton are “in limbo” with most of the temporary board being close associates of outgoing owner Farhad Moshiri, according to Ian Herbert.
Writing for the Daily Mail Sport (12 October, page 6), Herbert shared that the Toffees were one of four clubs to support Manchester City in their hearing with the Premier League over associated party transactions.
He added that this was likely Moshiri’s decision in the wake of Dan Friedkin’s takeover agreement, with no chief executive and mostly infrastructure experts in place at the very top.
Everton boardroom set for sweeping changes under Dan Friedkin
With Moshiri leaving an almighty mess for Friedkin to clean up once he does take the reins at Goodison Park, the American’s first job is to form a board capable of running the club properly.
Infrastructure experts will no doubt be kept on to help with the transition from Goodison to the new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in 2025, but that still leaves plenty of roles for Friedkin to fill.

Hiring a new chief executive will be the top priority for Friedkin when his takeover is ratified by the Premier League, with Lina Souloukou mooted following her recent, controversial departure from Roma [The Esk, 26 September].
Getting off to a strong start is imperative for Friedkin to gain the confidence of the Toffees faithful, with upstairs appointments arguably more important than what happens in the managerial dugout.
However, given Moshiri’s evident neglect of the Goodison boardroom during his turbulent time in charge, it won’t take much for changes to be seen as a positive by the beleaguered fanbase.
