Everton ace Iliman Ndiaye injury news emerges amid recent Senegal development

Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye was back in training after an injury sustained on international duty with Senegal, confirms Pape Thiaw.

The manager stated that the 24-year-old picked up an injury in the last game but trained on 13 October ahead of the game on 15 October against Malawi.

Thiaw was unwilling to go on record to state whether or not the Toffees winger would be in his starting eleven for that one.

DSports quoted him on 14 October: “Iliman was injured in the last match. Yesterday he trained at the hotel. Today he is at my disposal. We will see if he will be a starter tomorrow. I do not want to reveal my team here.”

Everton and Sean Dyche will be hoping Iliman Ndiaye does not play on Tuesday

Sean Dyche and the Toffees fans might be hoping Ndiaye doesn’t play a minute in the upcoming match due to the delicate balance between his recovery and performance readiness.

Given his recent injury during international duty with Senegal, there’s a significant risk of re-injury or playing while not fully fit, which could affect his performance and the club’s plans for the weeks ahead.

If the 24-year-old is an injury doubt, it’s prudent not to risk him, especially considering Everton’s need for him in upcoming Premier League matches where every point counts.

Senegal’s approach to potentially resting him could also be seen as a strategic decision, prioritising his long-term health and effectiveness, especially if they aim to have Ndiaye fully fit for crucial fixtures next month.

This cautious approach could preserve Ndiaye’s peak condition for when he’s most needed, aligning with both the Toffees’ and Senegal’s interests in maintaining his form and fitness over the season.

The fact that he’s trained, however, would mean that he’s likely to at least be on the bench.

In other Everton news, a first-team star who lost possession 13 times in the Newcastle draw will be axed by Sean Dyche for the Ipswich Town game.
