Theo Walcott makes ‘bullied’ claim after footage he saw of Everton ace Calvert-Lewin
Theo Walcott accused Dominic Calvert-Lewin of being “bullied” as Everton drew 1-1 with Fulham at Goodison Park on Saturday [26 October].
The striker had a goal ruled out for offside during the first half on Merseyside, before drawing a blank against defenders Calvin Bassey and Issa Diop.
He was eventually replaced by the scorer of the crucial equaliser Beto as the Toffees rescued a late point.
Former Toffees forward Walcott, speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day [26 October, 1:04:24], said: “Calvert-Lewin was a very isolated figure in [Saturday’s] game, I thought.
“Bassey and Diop, who were tremendous all game, bullied him – they really did. They put him in a position where he found it very difficult to make an impact in the end.
“The VAR call [for the disallowed goal] was the right decision. He was really quite frustrated with himself.”
Dominic Calvert-Lewin in his last hurrah at Everton?
Calvert-Lewin has been the subject of plenty of interest as his contract runs down at Everton, and the situation rolls on despite his recent comments on his privilege to be the club’s number nine.
At 27 and with nearly nine years at Goodison under his belt, the concept of a new challenge could be a daunting yet appealing one.
Calvert-Lewin remains wanted by Sean Dyche and the Toffees – and the opportunity to move with the club to Bramley-Moore Dock is an alluring prospect – and he has to decide whether or not the grass could be greener.

As capable as the England international is of putting in a lethal attacking display, he also endures plenty of games like that of Fulham on Saturday, with his competitor Beto breathing down his neck.
You sense now that Beto’s crucial late leveller could spark him into life and may even offer a glimpse to Dyche of life after Calvert-Lewin.
