Ian Darke raises significant Everton point after what happened in Fulham draw
Everton should take solace from their wider improved performances in recent weeks rather than their showing against Fulham, according to Ian Darke.
The Toffees extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games, arguably more by luck than judgement as Beto’s deflected header salvaged a point at the death against a returning Marco Silva and his side on Saturday [26 October].
Sean Dyche’s team performed far more comfortably in their 2-0 win at Ipswich Town the previous week, but broadcaster Darke is aiming to remind fans of what is more significant.
“Fulham were the slicker team against Everton but they’ve been pretty good this season, so I don’t think there’s any shame in that,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“The significant thing is they got a point. They’re conceding fewer goals and that’s largely without Jarrad Branthwaite as well. Michael Keane played really well and scored at Ipswich that he kept his place even with Branthwaite fit for the bench.
“They showed their quality against Ipswich, and they’re improving now to the point where overall, they’re unbeaten in six in all competitions, if you don’t include penalty shootouts.”
Everton remain in positive form heading into November
Unlike several Premier League rivals, Everton have a full week to prepare for their league contests having been eliminated from the Carabao Cup by Southampton and not competing in Europe.
Dyche’s Toffees meet bottom-placed Saints again on Saturday [2 November] at St Mary’s, and could put the final nail in Russell Martin’s coffin with a win.

Then comes a trip to an inconsistent West Ham United and the London Stadium on 9 November, prior to the international break.
