Sean Dyche sack decision at Everton has Leeds United concerned as new twist emerges
Graeme Bailey believes Everton will not pull the trigger on a transfer for Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison next summer if Sean Dyche leaves the club.
The transfer journalist shared in an interview with LeedsUnited.News [29 October] that Harrison’s performances this season may not earn him a permanent move to Merseyside if the Toffees decide to remove Dyche from the helm.
Harrison is spending his second consecutive loan spell from Leeds at Goodison Park but has massively underwhelmed for the Blues this term.
Bailey said: “Technically Jack Harrison’s due back [at Leeds] and we’ll see what happens. That will be a little bit of a worry for Leeds as I think we know that even if Dyche finishes the season, he won’t be there next season.
“So will whoever comes in at Everton want Harrison? That might be a bit of a concern for Leeds.
“It’s not that he’s not a good player, but they were looking on banking on that and hoping that Everton were scratching around to make that permanent and bring in another loan signing in January, but it probably doesn’t look like that’s going to happen now.”
Everton should cut their losses with Jack Harrison
Dyche has suffered a selection dilemma on the right flank this season with Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom seemingly vying for a position on the bench rather than the starting lineup.
Everton have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround of form as of late, with the 1-1 draw against Fulham on Saturday [26 October] marking a five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.
However, out of those five matches, three have been draws. The Blues have had no problems creating chances but, barring Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil, they lack another attacker with a clinical edge.
The Toffees were considering making Harrison’s loan spell permanent for Leeds before the start of the season [Fabrizio Romano]. Whether the stance remains the same at Goodison Park is up for debate, and it would be a foolish decision to rush into considering his recent performances.

As Bailey stated, the likelihood is Dyche will no longer be the Everton boss at the end of the season once The Friedkin Group assumes control of the club.
While Goodison News learned the Blues are offering their full support to the boss, the stance is not set in stone and, with the club set to embark on a new era on Merseyside, Harrison may no longer fit the long-term plan at the end of the season.
