Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam injury update emerges amid ‘significant’ setback

Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is likely to be out for several weeks with a bone injury in the foot, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that a stress reaction is a precursor to a more significant injury which is what will delay his return to the first team.

The physios will assess the healing of the bone and once they’re satisfied, he will be told to return to training.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Iroegbunam: “The injury sounds like a bone stress reaction which is when the bone is overloaded.

A stress reaction is a precursor to a more significant injury like a stress fracture.

There are no grades on these but they exist on a spectrum.

They are offloading it with a boot and will be assessing the healing of the bone prior to gradually ramping him up.

I see him being out for several weeks before he returns to 100 per cent.

Tim Iroegbunam has hit the ground running since joining Everton

The 21-year-old hit the ground running at Goodison Park and gave Sean Dyche exactly what he needed in the middle of the park.

Not having him on the side is certainly a blow for the Toffees and they’ll be hoping he can return to 100 per cent before the the end of the year.
