Everton sources share brand new manager verdict with The Friedkin Group

Sources close to Everton have suggested Frank Lampard for the managerial role at AS Roma to The Friedkin Group, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ivan Juric’s job at Roma is under threat as they sit eleventh in Serie A and the Italian newspaper reported via its website on 4 November that Lampard is a potential candidate to replace the 49-year-old.

Dan Friedkin, who has also spoken to Paulo Sousa’s entourage, was told about Lampard while he was in England recently.

Everton sources suggest Frank Lampard for Roma job

Friedkin, who has owned Roma since 2020, is awaiting regulatory approval to complete his takeover of Everton soon, having already struck a deal with Farhad Moshiri (Everton, 23 September).

While the American businessman has a decision to make over Juric in Rome, Sean Dyche’s future at Goodison Park has been a topic of discussion in Merseyside. Many fans wonder if the new owner will sack the Englishman in favour of a new manager as a part of his takeover.

Therefore, supporters hoping to see Dyche’s back will not be pleased to hear that Friedkin is expected to give Dyche a chance to prove himself and earn a new contract (TEAMtalk).

Jose Mourinho has been touted as a potential replacement for Dyche at Everton, but he does not appear to be in the new owner’s plans (Liverpool Echo).

Dyche, thus, seems to have Friedkin’s backing for the time being but he will have to ensure the Toffees steer away from the relegation to keep his job.
