Everton Stadium enters final stages of development with new era close

The Everton Stadium is really starting to take place now with new beginnings set to unfold on Merseyside in the coming months.

The official Everton Stadium account posted on X on 4 November, showing that grass is beginning to grow on the pitch of the club’s new home, having removed the covers at the near-completed ground.

Bramley-Moore Dock on Liverpool’s waterfront is – like the club itself – set to be transformed by the relocation there, and the transformational process is almost complete at the 52,888-seater venue.

The post read: “The blankets have been removed to reveal the grass starting to grow at Everton Stadium.

“The process for stitching with the SIS fibres has now begun.”

Everton need to see green shoots on and off the pitch

While many a Toffees fan is looking forward to the new era with high levels of anticipation, the task at hand in the present day remains to ensure that the final season at Goodison Park is a successful one.

So far this campaign, things are going somewhat to plan, with Sean Dyche’s side four points clear of the bottom three after 10 games having recently gone on a five-match unbeaten streak.

However, the threat of relegation remains a real one in the next 28 matches, and starting life at Bramley-Moore Dock as a Championship club would be a bona-fide disaster for any future prospects.

That’s a sentiment that will certainly be shared by incoming owner Dan Friedkin, who will be keen to maximise the potential held by the club’s new home both on and off the pitch.

Friedkin’s takeover is expected to be ratified in the coming weeks, and while it remains to be seen how immediate an impact he’ll have on Merseyside, the American’s arrival, coupled with the opening of their new home in 2025, represents the greatest changing of the guard in Everton’s long and storied history.

In other Everton news, Southampton’s social media team aimed a cheeky dig towards Sean Dyche after controversy this weekend.
