Sean Dyche sack decision claim emerges once Everton takeover is completed
Everton fans and the new owners may not put up with the same style of football under Sean Dyche once he has money to strengthen the team, believes Pat Nevin.
The BBC pundit told the Liverpool Echo on 4 November that while Evertonians are aware of the financial situation, they will not want to see the same kind of football in a new stadium with new owners in place.

Nevin said: “Over the past few years, the team that Sean Dyche has put together has cost very, very little compared to everyone else.
“When you start to think about that, the teams that spend a lot of money tend to end up at the top of the table so it’s a battle.
“There’s been all sorts of things going on behind the scenes for a long time now and it’s hard to build on that and having to sell on top of that is difficult. Evertonians are not stupid, they don’t think ‘let’s go out and try and buy Erling Haaland.’
“What the Evertonians won’t put up with is that sort of football when the money comes in again, which you’ll get with the new owners, the new stadium and if you stay in the Premier League, and neither should they. Would they put up with the style, the way it’s going right now, and Sean, if he did all the same things next year, and everything was going well financially, no they wouldn’t.”
Everton fans want to enjoy watching their team
Nevin’s comments reflect a palpable sentiment among the Goodison Park faithful and likely the incoming owners, The Friedkin Group.
The style of football under Dyche, while perhaps necessary given the financial constraints, isn’t the long-term vision for the club, especially post-takeover and with the move to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Evertonians, aware of the club’s financial struggles, have shown patience and understanding towards the pragmatic, often defensive approach Dyche has employed.
However, this patience is contingent on the context of the current financial mismanagement under Farhad Moshiri.
With the promise of new investment and infrastructure, there’s an expectation for a transformation in playing style.

Everton fans yearn for excitement, for football that keeps them on the edge of their seats, embodying a more attacking, dynamic approach that aligns with the club’s ambition to not just survive but thrive in the Premier League.
