Sean Dyche knows Everton days are numbered in new sack reveal after talks

Alex Crook has revealed Sean Dyche may know that his days are numbered at Everton after speaking to him at a recent event.

The Blues boss has been the subject of constant speculation on his future, and he could even be sacked if he fails to beat West Ham at Goodison Park on 9 November [talkSPORT].

Crook discussed the match on the Premier League All Access podcast [7 November, 32:53] and shared his thoughts on Dyche after asking him about his future recently.

He said: “I think he is already under the microscope from Dan Friedkin, in fact when I spoke to him at the Legends of Football event, Scott [Minto] and I were at, honouring Wayne Rooney, Sean Dyche was very non-committal about his future.

“I just got the sense in his body language and the way he was answering the questions that he knows his days could be numbered there, that Everton might go for a more glamorous appointment.”

Sean Dyche is running on borrowed time at Everton

Dyche had looked to have turned the corner at Goodison Park, embarking on a five-match unbeaten run in the Premier League which was brought to an abrupt end in the 1-0 loss against Southampton.

All the 53-year-old’s hard work to turn around his fortunes has dissipated after one result, the Blues are now back in the mix for relegation only four points ahead of Ipswich Town in eighteenth place.

The Toffees will travel to the London Stadium to face Julen Lopetegui, another boss under the cosh, in a tie which could all but certainly determine the future of one of the pair.

Everton are in a much better position on paper to return to Merseyside with three points but still, Dyche cannot afford to select the wrong players in East London as he did by omitting Jarrad Branthwaite at St Mary’s.

The Friedkin Group are believed to be eager to appoint a new figurehead at Goodison Park regardless of where the side finishes this year, with former Porto boss Sergio Conceicao among the list of targets more in line with their long-term vision [talkSPORT].

However, Dyche is fighting for the privilege of remaining the man in charge at the Blues for the current season, unfortunately, whatever happens beyond the current campaign is beyond his control.

Everton must leave East London with a victory under their belts to avoid reverting to square one, it is a huge task but not impossible and could be the momentum-boosting victory to kick on after the November international break.
