Dan Friedkin must quickly decide whether to sack Sean Dyche as Everton manager after Sergio Conceicao was linked with a return to Nantes.

The prospective owners at Goodison still appear to be on course to complete their purchase on by the end of 2024 [Dave Powell], but the situation is still concerning supporters.

Regardless of the takeover being official, the American still seems to be having a say on decisions regarding the manager.

This has seen multiple managers linked to the role on Merseyside, with Conceicao emerging as a top candidate to take the reins at Goodison Park [TEAMtalk].

If the Roma owner wants to move Dyche on and replace him with the Portuguese, he has to move quickly after the latest development.

If Friedkin has his eye on the unemployed 50-year-old, he may be concerned by his potential return to Ligue 1.

The ex-Porto boss could be in line to join Nantes, where he spent one year between 2016 and 2017, and is in “advanced discussions” to re-sign with the French outfit [Ouest France, 3 December].

If Conceicao is to make a move to the Stade de la Beaujoire this season, the Toffees would miss out on arguably their top target.

This could represent a frustrating start to the new reign under the US businessman, especially if he makes the decision to sack Dyche further down the line.

The Englishman is a safe enough pair of hands to see Everton through to the end of the season, but is still susceptible to a hammering like the defeat against Manchester United.

This could see Friedkin move on the ex-Burnley manager in a move to a more dynamic head coach, but that decision has to be made quickly or he risks missing out on his top targets.
