Roma open talks over Beto from Everton amid Friedkin development

AS Roma’s interest in signing Beto from Everton in the January transfer window is gaining traction, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian outlet reported via their website on 4 December that the Serie A club have already touched base with intermediaries to discuss the feasibility of the transfer. The striker, meanwhile, would like to return to Italy with a club like Roma.

This comes amid The Friedkin Group’s plan to hold “operational meetings” to determine the Giallorossi’s strategy in the upcoming transfer window, with a new competitor for Artem Dovbyk a “concrete possibility”.

With the takeover widely expected to go through by the end of December [The Guardian], Friedkin will soon have to draw up the Goodison Park outfit’s plans for January.

He might strike two birds with one stone by taking Beto from Merseyside to Rome in one of his first acts as the English club’s owner.

The Guinea-Bissau international started in the 4-0 loss to Manchester United on Sunday [1 December], but does not appear to have a major role in Sean Dyche’s plans.
