Merseyside Police share update on Everton v Liverpool amid Storm Darragh
Merseyside Police have advised against non-essential travel in the region as Everton prepare to host Liverpool on Saturday, as relayed by Sky Sports News.
As reported by the broadcaster online [7 December], an amber weather warning is in place ahead of the Premier League Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park on Saturday 7 December, a match in which one talkSPORT pundit has suggested what the hosts could look to do.
Liverpool will travel to the Toffees in the lunchtime kick-off, with the clash expected to be impacted by Storm Darragh.
Both clubs have issued a joint statement, advising supporters to allow extra time to travel and to remain alert to Met Office weather warnings.
Everton set to host Liverpool in the Premier League on Saturday
It looks as though the clash between Everton and Liverpool is still set to go ahead, which will delight supporters.
This could be the last Merseyside Derby which takes place at Goodison Park, unless the two teams meet in the FA Cup later this season at the ground, which seems unlikely.
Therefore, there is a lot of pressure on Everton to show up and get a result, and derail Liverpool’s title charge in the process.
Sean Dyche’s side will be slightly more confident of a positive result after thrashing Wolves 4-0 at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Wednesday [4 December], and one player has the potential to become a cult hero on Merseyside despite what he once said about the “scary” Mohamed Salah. However, the Reds are flying high at the moment, and stopping them won’t be easy.

As a result, the Toffees should perhaps look to use the impacts of Storm Darragh to their advantage.
The conditions will already be unpleasant, and Dyche’s men should look to make things even more uncomfortable for their rivals where they can.
