TFG wait on final approval before Everton takeover as ‘red flags’ update shared
The Freidkin Group are still waiting for the Premier League’s Independent Oversight Panel to approve their deal to take over Everton, according to Ben Jacobs.
The journalist reported via his personal X account on 13 December that while there are no “issues” or “red flags” surrounding the deal, the completion of the takeover can’t be announced until all approvals are in place, despite the recent reports that have surfaced.
This means that even though The Freidkin Group are still waiting to get the green light to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s stake, everything is on track.
“The Friedkin Group are hoping for all #EFC approvals to be in place next week. Optimism all is track,” Jacobs wrote.
“Understand there are no issues or red flags, but the Premier League’s Independent Oversight Panel has NOT yet approved the deal.
“All Premier League approvals need to be in place before the group announce completion.”
The Friedkin Group are finally set to take over Everton
After what seems like an extremely drawn-out process, it finally feels like Dan Friedkin is set to take on a controlling stake of the Toffees.
This saga has been going on for far too long with fans eagerly awaiting the news that Moshiri’s shares have been sold.
Of course, there has always been background work going on at the club but it feels nice for fans to finally have some real assurance that things are on track.
Everton won’t be the only club the American businessmen own, however, as they also own Serie A side Roma who the Goodison faithful will have likely been keeping a close eye on in recent months.
Although a date isn’t yet set in stone, when the announcement is set to take place, it finally feels like there’s an end in sight which is one of the best Christmas gifts fans could have likely asked for.
The sooner the Premier League’s Independent Oversight Panel give the go-ahead on the takeover, the better it will be for the club and all those involved.
