Tottenham alarm bells ringing after what has happened at Everton

Ade Oladipo believes “alarm bells” should be ringing at Tottenham upon learning that they have lost more matches than Everton.

The Blues travel to North London to face Arsenal on Saturday [14 December] and will be in remarkably high spirits after The Friedkin Group received Premier League approval to assume ownership of the club [Alan Myers].

However, presenter Oladipo namedropped the Toffees in a discussion about Spurs with co-host Rory Jennings live on talkSPORT [13 December, 8:36pm] to depict the dire situation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Spurs have lost more games than Everton, and that’s alarm bells,” he said.

“As soon as you hear that, because Everton have really struggled this season, it’s like, ‘Okay, that’s really bad’.”

Everton can get a result against Arsenal

While Everton are catching strays live on talkSPORT, it is a prime example of how the Premier League is panning out this year that Ange Postecoglou has more losses on record than Sean Dyche.

Despite four places and six points separating the sides, the Toffees could leapfrog Tottenham in the coming weeks and get revenge on the North London outfit after the 4-0 loss in the capital on matchday two.

However, Tottenham supporters will be arm and arm with the Everton faithful this weekend as Dyche aims to derail Arsenal in the Premier League title race – and he may have the perfect game plan to do so.

“Stoke City 2.0”, as Arsenal have widely been referred to this year, have become prolific from dead-ball situations under the stewardship of set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, but Monaco found out the flaw in their routines in the Champions League.

Therefore, if Dyche follows the exact blueprint and utilises his own set-piece weapon, Dwight McNeil, Everton could flip the script at the Emirates and top off a fantastic week with a monumental victory.

Stranger things have happened already this season.
