The Friedkin Group concern emerges as Everton takeover nears at Goodison Park
Bryan King is concerned about how focussed the Friedkin Group will be on Everton once they complete a takeover at Goodison Park.
The ex-Goodison scout has urged the US-based group to turn 100 per cent of their attention toward the Toffees, with Alan Myers sharing via X [15 December] a potential exact date the takeover could be completed.
It was reported on Friday [13 December, via Sky Sports News] that the Premier League had granted the Friedkin Group approval to complete their takeover of Everton.
And King, who has already urged Dan Friedkin to stay away from one official linked with the club, has shared a potential worry about the takeover while speaking exclusively to Goodison News.
“I think for a start, this will give everybody connected with Everton some peace of mind,” King said.
“How long have they been talking about a takeover? Now it looks as though they finally have a group ready to come in. However, my only worry is that the Friedkin Group own other clubs as well.
“It isn’t cheap running a football club, especially not in the Premier League. However, that is where the big money is. Therefore, I hope they concentrate 100 per cent on Everton Football Club.
“If it means channelling their main assets in, listen, the Premier League is what you want to prioritise because that is where the big money is. It isn’t in Italy and it isn’t in any of the other European leagues.”
The Friedkin Group to spend big money at Everton?
First and foremost, supporters will just be relieved that the takeover saga looks to be over. However, once the Friedkin Group do take charge, they must prove they are better owners than Farhad Moshiri has been.
That shouldn’t be difficult considering how catastrophic the Everton chairman’s reign has been on Merseyside. However, with other clubs to back, some fans might be worried about money being tight.

However, only time will tell how much the Americans are willing to back their latest footballing asset.
In other Everton news, the club want to sign a Manchester United player who is open to an exit.
