Sean Dyche Everton sack verdict shared after latest Friedkin Group news

Gabby Agbonlahor doesn’t believe Sean Dyche will keep his role as Everton boss next season.

The 53-year-old’s future has been brought into question on several occasions already this term and with the Friedkin Group’s takeover now confirmed [Official Everton X account, 19 December], it’s unlikely that the rumours will stop any time soon.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (19 December, 07:50am), Agbonlahor shared why he thinks Dyche won’t keep his role now that the Friedkin Group have officially come in.

“I think it’s wrong [to get rid of Dyche before the end of the season] but maybe they’ll see it as Sean Dyche always gets that label for the style of football he plays, he said.

“Maybe they’ll be like you know what, new stadium, new owners, new style of football, new manager, you know they [The Friedkin Group] might want Everton to start playing football from the back,

“I think they’ve still got a job to do, I mean, you look at the bottom of the table and they’re only three points off Ipswich but if these players can get Everton safe this season, then they’ve done a fantastic job because they’ve had their struggles.

“I just think you can’t see him keeping his job, there will be a manager that they’ll have in line.”

Everton should keep Sean Dyche for one more season

There’s no denying that this season has been a rather difficult one for the Toffees with the club currently sitting 15th in the Premier League.

While they’re not yet in the relegation zone, the fact only three points are separating them from 18th-placed Ipswich should be a cause for concern.

However, if the 53-year-old can keep the Merseyside outfit up once again and manages to prove his worth to The Friedkin Group, it’s hard to see why they wouldn’t want to extend his tenure for at least one more term.

He’ll have plenty of knowledge about the players, where their best positions are and how to get the most out of his team.

Whereas, if a new face was brought in, it would take time for them to build relationships and figure out the best way to start the season.

Only time will tell what the future holds but at the moment, everything seems to be up in the air.
