Simon Jordan shares ‘legitimate concerns’ as soon as Everton takeover is done
Simon Jordan has instantly raised “legitimate concerns” as news of the Friedkin Group’s takeover emerged at Everton.
The Toffees have confirmed [19 December] that Roundhouse Capital Holdings Limited have reached an agreement with Farhad Moshiri to purchase a 98.8 per cent share of the club [Ben Jacobs].
TFG have experience outside of the Premier League, currently owning AS Roma in Serie A, but due to their background in America, Jordan has already suggested a negative take on the breaking news.
Speaking live via talkSPORT [19 December, 10:10am], Jordan said: “You’ve got another American ownership in the Premier League, which comes with legitimate concerns about what that looks like and how football will evolve in this country.
“More and more Americans in the boardrooms will say they want to protect the values of the business that they invest in. Roll forward 20 years and we might have a game of four quarters with relegations being removed.”
TFG complete Everton takeover after long wait at Goodison Park
Supporters are unlikely to care at all about Jordan’s negative take on the takeover at Goodison Park, but once the dust settles, many will realise that he makes a good point.
In the short term, however, Dan Friedkin and Co. will be able to stabilise the ship and bring a sense of calm to the stadium, something that Moshiri has struggled to do since 2022.
The Toffees are just three points above the relegation zone under Sean Dyche, and while this will not change overnight with new owners, there is a new-found hope on the blue side of Liverpool.

Of course, Jordan is always going to attempt to find a negative spin on an incredibly exciting story emerging from Goodison Park – he always does.
However, the Friedkin’s links back to America could be huge for an influx of cash, especially when it comes to renting out the new stadium Bramley-Moore Dock once the team moves grounds.
In other Everton news, Dominic King has issued an “unbelievable” Jose Mourinho to Goodison Park admission under TFG.
