Richarlison and Onana send message to Dele Alli after Everton development
Richarlison and Amadou Onana have sent a message to Dele Alli after the former Everton star provided an update on his future.
Alli has continued to train at Finch Farm despite his contract expiring with Everton at the end of last season, with the Toffees recently urged to cut ties with the 28-year-old.
The out-of-contract midfielder took to his personal Instagram account on Friday [20 December] to say goodbye to the Toffees and announce that he would be exploring new opportunities in 2025, amid a recent update on Everton’s contractual liability to Tottenham.
And among the many comments were former Everton stars Richarlison and Onana, with the Brazillian commenting clapping hands and hands raised emojis while the Belgian simply put two hands raised emojis.
Dele Alli to say goodbye to Everton
It looks as though Alli won’t be signing a new contract with the Toffees, despite having spent the better part of the last six months training at Finch Farm.
While the reasons behind his decision to seek opportunities elsewhere aren’t yet clear, it appears as though Everton are happy to let him do just that, which is perhaps the best decision from the club’s point of view.
Paying the wages of a player who is yet to prove he can remain fit would have been a big gamble, and not the kind of decision which the Friedkin Group would have wanted backfiring on them having only just completed their takeover.
Therefore, it seems best for all parties involved if Alli moves on and seeks out different opportunities with different clubs.

And, with retirement having recently been mooted for the former Tottenham star, he will be keen to demonstrate that he can still play at the top level, and hopefully one day work his way back to the Premier League.
In other Everton news, two players have been ruled out of the Premier League clash with Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday [22 December].
