Beto to quit Everton after The Friedkin Group development
The Friedkin Group’s takeover of Everton could lead to Beto departing in the January transfer window, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
The Italian outlet reported via their website (22 December) that Roma are making “advances” for the Guinea-Bissau international ahead of the window.
With the Serie A club also owned by the Friedkins, the 26-year-old represents an “excellent” opportunity for Claudio Ranieri’s side.
Beto might not be the only player to move between Roma and the Toffees as “some operations” are being mooted on the back of the TFG takeover at Goodison Park.
Beto makes Everton transfer request amid Torino interest
Apart from Roma, Torino have also been credited with an interest in taking Beto back to Italy, where he spent two years with Udinese [La Stampa].
The centre-forward, meanwhile, has already asked to leave the Merseyside-based club, who have in turn put him on the market.
Roma, though, are likely to have an advantage over the likes of Torino in the race to sign Beto due to their Friedkin connection.
The multi-club model allows Dan Friedkin and co to move around players and funds conveniently and the former Portimonense frontman could be the patient zero in this case.

It is worth noting that Abdoulaye Doucoure has also been linked with a move to Rome [Leggo].
While there are concrete reports of a Roma player moving the other way around, it remains to be seen how The Friedkin Group’s ownership of both clubs is going to benefit Sean Dyche’s side.
In other Everton news, Friedkin’s message to Dyche in their latest meeting has been revealed.
