Chris Sutton shares ‘interesting’ Dyche sack admission after Man City v Everton
Sean Dyche will put The Friedkin Group in a “hell of a position” if he can finish the campaign strongly at Everton, Chris Sutton has said.
The Toffees are just three points above the Premier League relegation zone, undoubtedly throwing the boss onto thin ice on Merseyside, but recent results have been rather positive.
Dyche is now unbeaten in four games, three of which came against Arsenal, Chelsea and now Pep Guardiola’s Man City, giving TFG a difficult decision to make on his future.
Speaking via the It’s All Kicking Off podcast [27 December], Sutton said: “The results against Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester pretty much epitomise what Sean Dyche is – his character, his resilience, and his ability to carry on when a certain section of the Everton support has turned against him.
“Fair play to him. He’s actually in a really interesting position now that the takeover has happened. Often when there are takeovers, we see a change in manager, and they will probably wait until the end of the season to make that decision.
“If Sean Dyche finishes the season strongly, and I know a lot of fans will want him out, he’ll put them in a hell of a position because he’s a safe pair of hands.”
Sean Dyche to keep Everton job under The Friedkin Group?
TFG are never ones to hide from a difficult decision, proven by their list of managerial appointments over the last few seasons at AS Roma.
Many supporters believed one of their first decisions after walking through the doors at Goodison Park would be to sack the current manager, but that has certainly not happened.
In fact, Dyche has earned a lot of respect for the recent draws over the title-hopeful sides, and although Dan Friedkin was unlikely there to witness it [Ben Jacobs], that could mean quite a lot for his future.

The former Burnley figure already did the impossible last season, dragging the Toffees away from the relegation zone despite a total of eight points being deducted.
If he can achieve the same, and maybe have a summer transfer window with funds from TFG, fans might have to endure the 53-year-old’s tenure at Goodison Park a little longer.
