Everton backed to sign Tom Fellows amid West Brom crisis

Everton have been backed to sign 21-year-old West Bromwich Albion ace Tom Fellows.

Sky Sports commentator Guy Havord recently suggested that the Toffees could revisit a deal for Fellows after The Friedkin Group completed a takeover at Goodison Park.

The Englishman was a target for Sean Dyche’s side in the summer [Daily Mail], and the Blues look to have been handed some fresh encouragement in their potential pursuit of the player after Carlos Corberan left the managerial role at The Hawthorns to join Valencia on Christmas Eve.

And ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – thinks this is a player that Dyche would be keen to sign.

“Of course, this could be a worthwhile move,” King said.

“He is playing for a club competing near the top of the Championship. Therefore, anybody in the bottom half of the Premier League table could be looking to bring him in.

“He’s the sort of player that Dyche and his recruitment team would be looking at, and someone who they will feel could improve Everton.”

Everton to sign West Bromwich Albion ace Tom Fellows?

While supporters at Goodison Park will no doubt be excited about the Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club, it doesn’t mean they should expect big-name, big-money signings right away.

The US-based group will need to be cautious and navigate the situation at their new club carefully. However, that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be spending in January, they probably just cannot risk spending too much.

As a result, signing a young, proven Championship player with a high ceiling such as Fellows could be the way to go.
