Everton ready official offer for Yunus Akgun as new winger eyed at Goodison Park
Everton have placed Yunus Akgun on their radar ahead of the January transfer window, according to Takvim.
The Turkish daily reported via their website on 29 December that the Toffees are expected to knock on Galatasaray’s door when the window opens this week as they look to sign a new winger, with an official offer also in the pipeline.
Galatasaray, though, want a “significant” transfer fee to sell him in January, although it remains unclear what that sum is.
Sean Dyche wants a new winger at Everton, Yunus Akgun fits bill
Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison’s performances at Goodison Park have left much to be desired this season.
The two loanees are yet to find the back of the net across all competitions, putting Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye under immense pressure to deliver.
Therefore, Everton have seemingly entered the market to sign a new winger and Akgun certainly fits the bill.
The Turkiye international spent last season on loan at Leicester in the Championship, scoring two goals and providing four assists in 29 games.
He has hit the ground running at Galatasaray this term, bagging 10 goals and six assists from 23 appearances across all competitions.

The 24-year-old will enter the final year of his contract in Istanbul at the end of the season, so the Merseyside-based club would not have to break the bank to sign him.
Everton might still have to sell someone like Beto to raise funds to acquire Akgun services in January [Mail on Sunday].
