Pat Nevin wowed by Everton v Nottingham Forest moment – ‘Class Act’
Pat Nevin was wowed by the “calmness” of Morgan Gibbs-White when he bagged Nottingham Forest’s second goal of the game against Everton on Sunday.
The midfielder was at the receiving end of a pass across the Toffees’ box from Chris Wood who held the ball up as the Englishman made his way into the box and he then managed to coolly place the ball into the centre of the net.
The game ended 2-0 in Forest’s favour and the Merseyside outfit seemed to be on the backfoot for most of the 90 minutes despite being at home.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live (29 December, 16:23pm), Nevin shared his thoughts on the composure Gibbs-White showed when presented with the opportunity to send his team 2-0 up.
“He is a class act, Morgan Gibbs-White,” he said. “He still had a lot to do, but he does not panic in front of goal.
“It’s the calmness, it was almost like there was no one near him”.
Everton need to bounce back against Bournemouth in the New Year
While the Toffees have had a decent month of results with draws against the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea taking centre stage, it feels like that’s all come crashing down with their defeat against Forest.
Of course, the form of Nuno Espirito Santo’s men needs to be taken into account and the fact they’re now second in the Premier League shows how well they’ve done this season and the quality they have among their ranks.
While one defeat isn’t going to spell out the rest of their campaign, it feels like if the Merseyside outfit doesn’t bounce back and get at least a point against the Cherries on 4 January, things might start to go south once again.

The Toffees currently sit 16th in the Premier League table and are now getting dangerously close to the drop zone which is obviously the last thing that the Toffees want to happen this season.
Only time will tell what their future holds but if Dyche and his men go back to how they were before their string of draws against the title challengers, things won’t look all that positive.
In other Everton news, the Toffees have been linked with a move for a winger in January.
