Sean Dyche could be sacked at Everton after decision made v Nottingham Forest

Sean Dyche’s decision to start Armando Broja for Everton against Nottingham Forest may end up costing him his job after what was a dreadful performance.

The Toffees suffered their first defeat of The Friedkin Group era on Sunday (29 December) as Nottingham Forest secured a 2-0 win at Goodison Park, and much of that was down to the inclusion of Broja as he was evidently not ready to start the game.

Attacking woes have haunted the Toffees and Dyche seemed unsure about whether that concern would be addressed in January. After Broja’s showing, it needs to be a priority.

His decision to start a striker who has spent such a long time on the sidelines massively backfired, and it may have been the last decision he makes as Everton manager if TFG want to see the club progress.

Everton need to sign a striker in January

Broja cant be the main one to blame for what was an uneventful showing against Forest, but Dyche certainly is.

Grated, Dominic Calvert-Lewin hasn’t been in the best form this season but the most important thing is that he is fit. Broja was evidently not given his lack of sharpness and reluctance to get stuck into challenges.

With Calvert-Lewin potentially departing in January (Alan Nixon), Everton need to bring someone in during the January transfer window not only to have an immediate impact but to also integrate into the squad before likely becoming a starting figure next season.

This season just seems to keep getting worse for Everton and the majority of the blame has to fall on Dyche and his inability to adapt to the circumstances they find themselves in.

If TFG want to see the club progress, it’s becoming increasingly obvious the only course of action is to sack him.
