Jordan Pickford makes ‘Amazing’ Everton admission after TFG takeover
Jordan Pickford says Everton are looking ahead to a fresh start in an “amazing” new stadium after The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club.
Pickford will have seen more than anyone the increased optimism at Goodison Park after TFG’s takeover having stuck with the club throughout tough times under Farhad Moshiri.
Sean Dyche has to keep the Toffees safe from relegation with work to be done in the second half of the season with the hope that his side can then move into their new stadium still a top-flight team.
Pickford is confident about a brighter future for the Toffees as he told the Official Club Website (31 December): “Having been able to see it for myself, I think the new stadium is going to be amazing.
“I know a lot of Evertonians who are passionate about the history of the Club and how much Goodison has been part of that but this is a new chapter.
“It’s going to be about us enjoying taking on that challenge and creating our own memories there. I think it’s going to be a great thing for the Club.
“Then, with the new owners coming in, I’ve always said that’s not much to do with us as players but it feels like a fresh start for the Club as a whole.
“Obviously, my part of that is doing my bit and contributing on the pitch. I’ve still got two years left on my contract after this one, so, 100 per cent, I am looking forward to moving in and hopefully playing my part in getting us moving upwards.”
Jordan Pickford will continue to be a key part of new era at Everton
Pickford has made himself a firm favourite at Everton as he continues to put in high-quality performances for the Toffees and has stood by the side throughout the difficult times on and off the pitch.
With this in mind, you can imagine that the goalkeeper was as pleased as the supporters were to see the takeover completed at Goodison and he will hope that he can push himself further as the club try to further themselves too.

Dyche’s side sit just two points above the relegation zone meaning there is still plenty of work to be done before the Toffees can get too excited about what the future holds.
However, the 30-year-old’s comments will surely give supporters the boost they needed to stick by their team in the second half of the campaign to spur them on to kicking off life in their new stadium as a Premier League side.
