Beesley wowed by ‘inexplicable’ thing he noticed ahead of Bournemouth v Everton
Chris Beesley has been shocked by the “inexplicable” fact that Everton have never beaten Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
Junior Stanislas’ name will be etched into Toffees fans’ memories, with a 3-3 draw in 2015 being the closest that the Merseyside club have come to victory in the seaside town.
Fastforward to Saturday 4 January, Sean Dyche’s side will have the opportunity to put that record to bed, hoping to put a run of six matches at the Vitality Stadium behind them.
Speaking via the Royal Blue YouTube channel [3 January], Beesley: “It’s the smallest ground in the Premier League, smaller than Prenton Park. It shouldn’t be intimidating to go down there.
“As good as those Bournemouth fans are, it’s a bit inexplicable that Everton have never won a Premier League game there. There isn’t a better time to start than now.”
Can Everton break their Vitality Stadium voodoo v Bournemouth?
The Toffees will certainly need to put on a better showing than the 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest if they are to claim a victory against the Cherries on Saturday.
Dyche and his players are likely still haunted by the 3-2 capitulation against Andoni Iraola’s side at Goodison Park earlier this season, but they must put those feelings behind them.
Performances have been really positive recently, drawing against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City before the disappointing display against highflyers Forest.

However, the Toffees are still only two points above the relegation zone after 18 matches, with wins for Wolves and Ipswich Town potentially throwing them into the dreaded dropzone.
Therefore, a win against the Cherries feels vital at this point in the season or it could be the end of Dyche, with The Friedkin Group not afraid to make changes.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are ready to sign a Ligue 1 midfielder, with the potential for £16.6million to be offered.
