Everton stance on Armstrong exit shared as Iroegbunam news emerges

Harrison Armstrong has clubs “interested” in acquiring his services from Everton in the January transfer window, according to the Liverpool ECHO.

Echo journalist Joe Thomas reported via the newspaper’s website (3 December) that the youngster could “fall out of contention” for a first-team spot upon the return of Tim Iroegbunam this term.

The youngster has already made his first-team debut for the Toffees this season and could now be sent out on loan for the second half of the campaign.

Everton should sanction the loan exit of Harrison Armstrong

It’s clear from how Armstrong’s step-up to the first team has been handled that Everton believe the youngster has a bright future ahead of him.

He’s been involved with first-team training since the start of the season and, whenever Sean Dyche has been asked about his Goodison Park future, he’s always been full of praise.

At the moment, it still feels like he’s too young to become a first-team regular for the Merseyside outfit as, while he may have put in a fair few decent performances for the Under-21s this term, the Premier League is a completely different ball game.

A loan move to a team in League 2 or League 1 could be an ideal way for the youngster to kick-start his career and it would also allow him to get some real experience under his belt.

He may have made a couple of short cameos for the Toffees this season but the best move for both parties feels like it could lie away from Goodison Park for the second-half of the term.
